TXMission at SmallSat Symposium 2019: Show Preview

January 11, 2019

While meandering around the exhibition areas of the forthcoming SmallSat Symposium in Silicon Valley, seasoned industry observers and first-time, sharp-eyed visitors alike may notice yet another new entrant to the rapidly growing New Space community – the TXMission stand. A friendly welcome for all visitors to the stand is assured and we like to think that they will be both surprised and impressed at what they find there. Quite simply, we’re exhibiting the most advanced smallsat communications technology available anywhere, including:

  • The CubeSat-format Quest™ Software Defined Radio. This supports the CCSDS telemetry standard with both DVB-S2/S2X and Viterbi/Reed Solomon waveforms. DVB-S2/S2X maximises data throughput for a given transmit power level. Data rates of up to 500Mbps are supported (at symbol rates of over 100Msps). Hi-resolution pictures and video from onboard sensors can be compressed to a fraction of their original size using our real-time hardware compression feature. Radiation hardened components in the key areas of power supply and processor ensures operation always recovers from any faults caused to the electronics by the effects of radiation. The communications subsystem is incredibly versatile and can optionally host both the flight computer software and the payload mass storage, making it the industry’s first ‘all-in-one’ CubeSat processor solution.
  • Our suite of communications products includes a ground station modem and our MissionSpan™ network management system that supports the monitor and control of entire constellations of satellites.

If you are visiting, then please come along to our stand (#63) and talk to us about your requirements. We look forward to it.
